The Crediton Food Festival
In 2013 we celebrate our fifth anniversary and are also part of the six-week Crediton Festival 2013.
Crediton has history of good, locally produced food. The High Street boasts a butcher, greengrocer, bakers, delicatessens, wine shop, cafes and restaurants. In the locality are many food producers, some of whom feature in the prize-winning Crediton Farmers’ Market, held in the Town Square on the first Saturday of each month.
Given all this wonderful food it seemed sensible to showcase some of it and to boost the profile of the town and its surrounding area. So, when Crediton celebrated its 1100th anniversary with a wide-ranging festival in 2009, it seemed the perfect opportunity to create the first Food Festival.
Since then it has been run by a band of local volunteers headed by Tim Harris and Alison Shakspeare. If you have an interest in promoting local food then do join us, email info@creditonfoodfestival.co.uk for more information.
